The electric potential of the cell membrane of the living organism

The work is about the electric potential developed on the live cell membrane surfaces (another name: transmembrane potential). The electric potential is formed around the internal and external surfaces of all living cell membranes. It is one of the most important element for the function of the membrane and for function of the cell itself, as well as the function of the nervous system. We have discussed the basic structure and functions of the cell membrane. But the main topic is about electric characteristics of the membrane, the mechanisms of forming the membrane potential, the reasons, the method of counting the value of potential and it’s biological importance for the cell.
