Annotation:

Antimicrobial Resistance is a global problem. It is recognsed as an international pandemy and is one of the key factors in the unsuccessful treatment of infectious diseases. It is acknowledged that this process is currently uncontrolled. Among the diseases caused by resistant microorganisms, one of the most topical are the infections caused by urogenital mycoplasma. They belong to a sexually transmitted infections group and deserve special attention due to high frequency of their spreadeness, as well as the various complications that come with these infections. Despite the concerning statistics (17.8% increase of sexually transmitted infections according to the data of National Center of Disease Control during 2008- 2016). Nowdays there is neither baseline data of infections diseases caused by mycoplasma nor the data of antimicrobial resistance in Georgia, which causes difficulties in clinical management and prediction of therapy. It is known that by their unique organization the mycoplasms are resistant to various antimicrobial medicines (β lactamases, sulfanilamides, aminoglycosides), and at the same time have a much higher ability of mutation than other microorganisms, which leads to formation of antibiotic resistance. According to the data of Georgian researchers, the aimless usage of antibiotic is very common in Georgia, that certanly complicates the existing condition. Therefore, it is recommended to have a detailed study of antibiotic resistance and conduct large-scale studies in this regard. According the above-mentioned, since there is no data on the urogenital mycoplasms and the dissemination of resistant forms in Georgia, the main goal of the research is to identify the causes of urogenital mycoplasma in the Georgian population, to detect commonly resistant forms and to determine groups of antimicrobial drugs to which the mycoplasms observed in Georgia, are exceptionally resistant. It is obvious that according to the relevance of the issue, the mentioned study has both: scientific and practical value, based on the results of conducted research practical recommendations for the selection of rational antimicrobial therapy in the primary health care systemcould be developed. In this term the work will be a useful source of features of urogenital microplasmosis in Georgian population, based on this information proper selection of appropriate therapy and preventionwill be possible.
