Assessment of the hazardous natural processes developed in Shida Kartli Region

Annotation:

One of the topical problems of modern times is the development in time and space of the hazardous natural processes in the geographical environment, which is caused by natural and anthropogenic factors. The latter has an important role in the development of these processes, which is caused by the fact that on the background of the increased needs of the world population, the common living area of humans is being limited, thus humans try to occupy the places that have difficult natural conditions. Often people do so without observance of the construction rules and norms, which provokes the development in time and space of the hazardous natural processes such as: landslides, mudflows, rockfall, shore erosion, etc. These negative processes cause huge financial damage and often casualties as well. Unfortunately, all the above still remains an unresolved problem all over the world. In this regard, Georgia is no exception, namely Shida Kartli region, where the above mentioned processes damage houses, homestead plots and infrastructural facilities every year. This causes huge financial damage and, considering the social and economic situation in Georgia, it is clear how negative effects would excessive expenses have for our country. Therefore, the research of those issues is of great importance. The goal of my research is to identify hazardous natural processes developed in Shida Kartli region and to establish the main causes of the above.
